Leaning Picture

February 2009 Magazine

One of the most common mistakes when taking a photograph is not holding the camera level causing the picture to lean to one side. Most railway subjects contain horizontal and vertical objects so even a small lean can be obvious. Pictures on web sites and even in magazines are often seen with a pronounced lean. There’s no excuse for this because photo editing allows a leaning picture to be corrected reasonably quickly and easily by rotating it. This article explains a couple of ways to correct the problem.
