Displaying photographs on Internet web pages is very popular and there are large numbers of railway-related sites to browse. Unfortunately there have been numerous examples of copyright theft where images were taken from the photographer’s site and displayed elsewhere without permission or acknowledgement. One way to tackle this is to add a photographers copyright label to each image in a process sometimes called watermarking. The various stages involved in this are explained in the printed magazine.
To help those who wish to experiment some displays and downloads are included here. The first is an example copyright label in Gif format shown below and the same image in Photoshop .PSD format that you can download and edit yourself to create your own copyright label. Note that the curved format here can only be edited in full Photoshop, not Photoshop Elements.
