Successful photography of the modern railway scene involves recording a wide range of colours correctly. Some modern liveries are difficult to capture correctly on a digital camera, particularly the shade of red introduced by DB Schenker to replace EWS red as recently applied to locomotives 59206 and 66152. This article explains why the difficulty happens and what can be done to deal with it.
